Monir Zafarnejad

Monir Zafarnejad is a registered physical therapist, and a graduate of the Iran University of Medical Sciences (1987). Monir completed specialized cardiac rehab courses at the University of Wisconsin, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2009, and Texas Women‘s University in 2010. She also obtained first-hand training in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation in Pomona, California (2009) from Donna Frownfelter, DPT, one of the pioneers of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. After her visit to the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center of the University Hospital of Uppsala, in Sweden, Monir presented an extensive report on the European standards for the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation in multiple conferences. Monir’s comprehensive and specialized knowledge, and practical skills in the field of cardiopulmonary physical therapy has led to her several presentations and workshops in both Heart and Physical Therapy conferences. Monir is a founding member, and the current Director of the Cardiopulmonary Branch of the Iranian Physiotherapy Association. She has also served as the Scientific and Executive Secretary of the IPA in the Iranian Heart Congress. In 2011, Monir received the prestigious Friend of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section award of the American Physical Therapy Association.
